Recognition in Romania of judgments issued by the Republic of Moldova

Romanian citizens permanently residing in Romania and abroad are obliged to register judgments issued by the Republic of Moldova on the territory of Romania.

The acte.md team can provide advice and assistance for the recognition of judgments at the Romanian courts. Recognition is made by the Trial Court of the last place of residence in the country (Romania) or at the Tribunal of Bucharest, if the persons reside abroad (Republic of Moldova).

In order to obtain the recognition of the judgment, the following conditions must be met:

– the judgment recognition of which is applied for must be final and irrevocable;

– the court which pronounced it had powers to examine the case according to the mentioned law;

– there must be reciprocity regarding the effects of the foreign judgment between Romania and the state of the court that pronounced the judgment.

Necessary documents

-copy of the foreign judgment

-copy of the confirmation of delivery of the summons and of the notice, communicated to the party that was not present in the foreign court

– Identity card

-power of attorney
